Are you sure this is Icelandic?

I can't find any reference to this in Icelandic or any other Scandinavian language, but on re-reading it, it sounds surprisingly similar to 'turtledove'!

Are you sure the person who used it, wasn't making up the Icelandic bit, and was calling you 'my little turtledove' or something like that?
