Like Ramona, I assume 'until' should be untuk. Also, I think 'berujug' should be berujung. The meaning tends to be ambiguous: I think you could read it as: Many thought that he/she would end up as Indonesia's ambassador to Canada. (future) But it is more likely that that the person is already ambassador to Canada. The context should make it clear which is intended.
