Thanks, John. Captures the sense. |

Note: 'akses' must be 'ekses'.
Thanks, Hipyan. Regarding 'akses' vs. 'ekses', itu saya salah ketik! |
Thank you for this very precise suggestion. IMO, I need to convey a sense of the poisonous environment and stench created by KKN, rather than just state the fact. |

Terima kasih, Pak. |
In a different grammatical structure, i.e., one where an adjective is required, this would be appropriate. However, in this sentence, we need a phrasal structure, i.e., X of Y, as in 'full of water'. To use the word 'rampant', we'd have to save something like '... in which corruption, collusion and nepotism were rampant'. Thank you for offering your opinion. |
colored by
atau mungkin "completely colored by corruption, collusion, and nepotism practices."

Terima kasih, Pak. I think 'colored by' is more like 'warna nuansa', whereas this has a 'bau' about it. |

Being a son of a pro-Soekarno, deeply nationalist reporter working for three newspapers that got banned by the extinct Dept. of Information, I felt that my future was strangled by such a pervasive cronyism.
I am deeply touched by your openness. A very genuine and appropriate suggestion. Terima kasih, Erich. |

Andrew, if you had posted 'reeking of', I would have chosen it, because the 'stench' of KKN is just what I want to convey. |
