I need to know the equivalence of "high school" "junior high school" and "elementary school" in INdonesia to that of the United Kingdom system - age groups if possible.

SMP (Sekolah Menengah Pertama) WITH: Secondary School Education

SMU (Sekolah Menengah Umum) WITH: Secondary School Education

Diploma WITH: Between BTEC First Certificate and GCE A-Level depending on institution attended

S1 (Strata 1) WITH: Bachelor (Ordinary/Honours) degree

S2 (Strata 2 Pasca Sarjana) WITH: Masters Degree

S3 (Strata 3 Pasca Sarjana) WITH: PhD

agree  Mark Oliver: and SMA as well? That is commonly cited at the US "high school" equivalent, which I think is comparable to the UK.

  -> SMA is formally changed to SMU (since 2000)

agree  Louis SOETEDJA: SMA = Senior High School (usually the last 2 years ?!)
