Indonesian term or phrase: dulang
A dulang is used as an accessory in the preparation of rice--it is never used as a "bowl", it is strictly for the preparation/presentation.

http://www.geocities.com/handycraftlombok/vine_wood4.htm here an example of a dulang.

Would it be best to leave the word as it is, only describing what it is/does?
