Secondo me, si tratta (nel tuo caso) della definizione 1b; quello che in Belgio viene definito "Vrije student", ovvero lo studente che non frequenta corsi ufficiali per sostenere un determinato esame.
Il problema è che non so bene se in Olanda si dice lo stesso "Vrije student", ho trovato pochi riscontri...

Asker: ja ik geloof inderdaad ook dat het 1b is; dat vrije student komt er mee overeen maar ik heb er in NL nog nooit over gehoord, vind ook niets terug op internet

neutral  HannaTheuwen: vrij student in België = ingeschreven zijn voor bepaalde afzonderlijke vakken aan een universiteit/hogeschool, je gaat al dan niet naar de les, legt al dan niet een examen af, dat is volledig naar keuze; ben zelf ook vrij student geweest
