Italian term

si colorano di tinte forti

Italian to English Other Automotive / Cars & Trucks Motorcycles
In sella alla Fury le strade si colorano di tinte forti che guardano con sguardo bramoso alle radici americane reinterpretate sotto un’ottica nipponica.

I'm having trouble with this sentence about the Honda Fury motorcycle. And I'm not sure who or what "guardano" refers to. Thanks for any help!

become painted in primary colours

This is what I'd say (the original is not very clear at all...)

"Riding a Fury, the roads become painted in primary colours, the exciting colours of American roots seen through Japanese-tinted lenses."

become tinted in roaring colours / become roaring roads

Io passerei dalla descrizione delle strade a tinte accese alle strade a tinte aceese, cioè passerei dal piano della similitudine a quello della metafora per rendere pienamente l''avventura che guidare una Fury può essere.
Peer comment(s):

agree Leanne Young : It's all excitement and fury. The guardano means that on the bike the roads eagerly reflect/echo/recall American roots/origins reinterpreted in a Japanese light.

tinte forti

I'd say that:

Riding a Fury, the streets dye of violent colours and longingly gaze to American roots reinterpreted under Japanese lens.

[I think the subjects are the streets who "change" colours and the reinterpreted American roots. Those two undergo the modifies only because you're riding that Fury.
And "ottica" is "point of view" literally, but "lens" is more... poetic like the rest of the text :) ]
