Italian term

collegato

Italian to English Bus/Financial
"Il collegato alla legge finanziaria del 2000 consigliava alle amministrazioni di enti pubblici di far uso della norma..."
Seems to be some kind of annex. Has anyone had to translate this before?
Thanks
Derek

Dear D,
I agree that it appears to be "attachment" but I was suspicious as I'd never seen it used like that before so I looked up collegato and I got several hits that say stuff like this:
"Commento agli emendamenti proposti dal governo al disegno di legge collegato alla legge finanziaria Il ministro delle Finanze Vincenzo Visco ha presentato alla Commissione competente del Senato gli emendamenti proposti dal governo al disegno di legge collegato alla Legge"
Sito: http://www.finanze.it/comstamp/com220300.htm
So it looks like "derived" or "connected"
What do you think?

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks to both of you for you time. I'm going to stick with my original idea, maybe switching from "annex" to "attachment" as you both suggested. It does mean derived/connected I suppose, but I need a noun. Now I've got to spend a few minutes looking up "pork barrel" - curiosity may kill cats, but it seems to be a healthy diet for people in our line! Cheers Derek "

Based on Arnone's research (great site, thanks)and your own deduction, I think it refers to items that are part of the law but not necessarily a part of the text itself. Somewhat akin to U.S. "pork barrel" legislation.
