I found this in a document about HVSR analysis:
"II metodo HVSR (Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio) è un metodo di sismica passiava per la valutazione dei rapporti di ampiezza spettrale fra le componenti orizzontali (H) e la componente verticale (V) delle vibrazioni ambientali (sia naturali che antropiche) su un punto specifico della superficie del terreno. In questa tipologia di misure, come detto puntuali, viene utilizzato un unico sensore (geofono triassiale) equipaggiato con tre velocimetri o accelerometri, opportunamente calibrati ed aventi assi orientati secondo la terna cartesiana, a differenza dei sensori sempre a polarizzazione verticale usati in altre metodologie di misura. Il metodo permette una valutazione attendibile ed economica della frequenza fondamentale del deposito, ovvero permette di misurare le frequenze di risonanza di terreni o strutture."
