I'm translating the description of a project to restore an old fortification, with the aiming of establishing a balance between the old structures and the contemporary new-style additions. Here I find: "La scelta del calcestruzzo gettato in strati inframezzati di sabbia a perdere richiama i corsi lapidei delle murature storiche". Qualcuno mi può dare una mano con "sabbia a perdere"? Grazie mille.
