Would very much welcome suggestions for "consumo consapevole" and/or "consapevolezza del consumo energetico" in this passage. Not sure whether "informed usage" might be appropriate.
In Brasile, sono stati avviati numerosi progetti di efficienza energetica agendo sulla consapevolezza del consumo energetico, favorendo la sostituzione delle apparecchiature elettriche obsolete (frigoriferi, congelatori, lampade), con un impatto significativo sul consumo di energia e sul potenziamento dell’efficienza energetica nelle abitazioni.
Nel 2019, circa 267mila clienti hanno beneficiato di progetti educativi per il consumo consapevole.

Explanation:
The main idea was to contribute to build sustainable European society around the topic of responsible consumption, and this study represented the first step towards this objective. In fact, the study was taken as a basis (in terms of awareness and knowledge) to develop the “Otesha Action Plan” which collects together commitments made by civil society and proposed actions for institutions at local and EU level.

Consumer awareness should work well here, as the context makes it clear what the awareness refers to - i.e. responsible energy consumption. But those words already used earlier on.
