I am translating the part of the birth certificate issued by the Comune which has the heading "Servizi Demoanagrafici" what is this? Is it Demographic Services or Demographic Services Register. I've never heard to this. To give it context, it's then followed by "Estratto per riassunto dai registri degli atti di nascita." Thanks for your help.

agree  James Stuart: or you could keep it at 'Register Office' if it's clear that it is a division of the 'comune'. In England and Wales and N. Ireland you would go to the local Register Office. In Scotland you would apply to the Registrar at the Registration Office.

agree  James (Jim) Davis: As it is the translation of an actual certificate, I would keep the "service" in. It does no harm and allays suspicions of non-native English readers to see each word translated.
