I suppose it means something like to protect/safeguard the interests of the principal but I am not sure about the urgente part.

agree  Rachael Alexander: I imagine one could use 'immediate' as an alternative to urgent as well.

  -> I see immediate as meaning just very soon, while urgent implies necessity too.
