Stenosante: causa di (pressocche')completa occlusione del lume di un
organo. Il fisiologico contenuto (feci, sangue ...) non passa o passa
in maniera insufficiente. Ciò determina una sintomatologia clinica
(occlusione intestinale, ischemia ...).
Substenosante: un gradino in meno della stenosi. La compromissione del
lume puo' essere stimabile in circa l'80-90%%. Il contenuto, seppure a
fatica, passa. Ciò può correlarsi ad un quadro clinico (per esempio, se
parliamo di intestino, crisi subocclusive con nausea, vomito e dolori
intermittenti), oppure non correlarsi ad alcun disturbo (per esempio,
una stenosi vascolare, anche grave, può non dare sintomi clinici), ma
e' comunque ben rilevabile strumentalmente (per esempio con la
colonscopia, il clisma opaco oppure con l'eco color Doppler, se
parliamo di vascolare).
