In italiano il termine vuole intendere soltanto "zona" (di rarefazione), o area, appunto, di piccole dimensioni (areola), in quanto centimetrica. Non vi sono in esso particolari riferimenti ad una forma piuttosto che a un'altra, anzi, si parla di "profili mal definiti"...
