on the other hand, does the target readership really need to know that VC stands for Val di Chiana, I mean, once it's established that it's not strictly to do with the medical emergency itself ?

Brava, Judy ... this makes sense since it fits for the region where the patient was treated.

Possibly too late to add this little detail to my report, but we can include in the next version of Acromed.

Hi everybody,

Thanks for your suggestions. The hospital is in the Siena province (I had already thought of this as the abbreviation for the province, but it can't be that).

And I don't think it's Vascular Cardiology ... I don't think they would throw in an English acronym when they could easily write CV in Italian if they wanted to!

I've already delivered this, and left a note that I don't know what it means. Let's see if someone else knows this one (before I close the question).

I think the name of the hospital might help in this case to decide whether VC goes with the hospital or with "Cardiologia".
It might well be Vercelli although the preposition "in" sounds strange. Also is there an underscore also in the original
