Italian to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general)
Italian term or phrase: befla
This appears in a legal document for UK English.

"...dopo aver contratto il debilitante virus della befla congiuntivite in piena guerra civile nigeriana..."

Befla, Ivory Coast and Befla as a surname are the only references I could find, neither of which have anything to do with conjunctivitis. Nigeria and the Ivory Coast are both in Africa but that doesn't help much. Is it a typo? If so any ideas what it should possibly be instead? Thanks in advance for any advice.
