corretta la risposta: "schedule".

Le tubazioni americane in acciaio, secondo la ANSI, sono schedule 40, 30, 20. Dal diametro 1/8" a 12" incluso sono schedule 40; il 14-16-18" sono schedule 30 e il 20-24" sono schedule 20.

Le tubazioni in acciaio extra strong da 1/8" a 8" sono schedule 80, da 10-14" sono schedule 60, da 16-18" sono schedule 40, da 20-24" sono schedule 30.

La differenza, ad es. fra un tubo da 6" sch. 40 e sch. 80 non è il De =6.625", ma il Di= nel primo caso a 6.065, da cui lo spessore della parete di 0.280"; nel secondo caso il Di= 5.761, da cui uno spessore di 0.432.
Lo spessore maggiore non serve alla saldatura, ma per poter reggere a maggiori pressioni. Infatti il tubo da 6" sch. 40 ha una press. max. di esercizio di 1097 psig (ca. 75 bar), mente lo stesso tubo da 6" sch. 80 ha una press. max. di esercizio di 1876 psig (ca. 129 bar)
