Gli aggiustamenti superficiali vengono adattati in caso di forti variazioni dimensionali, in particolare nei pezzi con superfici interrotte. Analogamente a quanto accade nella programmazione dei set, è possibile scegliere se il pezzo ha superfici lisce o interrotte, se le interruzioni sono tali da consentire che due tastatori si trovino contemporaneamente sulla superficie continua per almeno un tempo > 10 ms o no, se sono costituite da una scanalatura oppure se si esegue la rettifica di un diametro interno in oscillazione.
