Italian term or phrase: we send our love
in a letter
Juli
Un abbraccio (da noi tutti)
Explanation:
Dear Juli,

There's no need to translate literally, really. From personal experience this is a kind, nice way to write that in a letter. Literally "Hugs!", it implies affection and warmest regards. You can add "da noi tutti" if you want the hugs to come from all the family or friends, as in "we ALL send you warmest regards!".

This is how I would put it in Italian :)

Hope it helps,

Flavio

agree  giogi: right, but the word "amore" doesn't necessarily imply sex!We use to say amore also for maternal love, christian love...

-> Agreed, but in fact you would qualify "amore" with the adj. "maternal" and "christian". Just to show the difference!

agree  CLS Lexi-tech: yes Flavio, but id would say "hugs" in English; very common to end a letter in Engl. with hugs and kisses, 00XX

-> D'accordo, ma perché non simplificare? Certamente non morirà nessuno se si fa un piccolo scambio di significati...

disagree  Mabre: Flavio, la tua traduzione è brillante, dato che interpretativa, ma secondo è un po' lontana dall'originale...

-> Mmm...secondo me ci sarebbe molto da discutere sul margine di libertà del traduttore...andiamo sul Forum?;-)
