significato ma non traduzione Explanation: Ho trovato il significato del termine "Risparmiare", che è un termine tecnico dell'arte ceramica: Il ceramografo dipinge il vaso senza per questo nascondere totalmente dietro il pigmento la superficie "grezza" dell'argilla, quest'ultima viene dunque "risparmiata". Questa definizione proviene da un file PDF che ho trovato in http://www.comune.firenze.it/soggetti/sat/didattica/pdf/grec... (il file contiene anche un glossario, vedi a pagina 11) In inglese, ho trovato che i vasi greci venivano dipinti con tre tecniche "Black-figure", "Red figure" e "White ground", dove le prime due sono costituite da figure monocromatiche che utilizzano il vaso come colore di contrasto, senza altro colore di sfondo. In conclusione, il "fondo risparmiato" indica una superficie non coperta da colore di sfondo, tecnica ben nota ai greci per la decorazione di ceramiche, vasi e piatti, ma non ho trovato una traduzione esatta di questo termine in inglese, in nessuna fonte o sito web. |

I found this definition for "fascia": Band An area of decoration encircling a vessel, usually bounded above and below by encircling framing lines and sometimes divided into rectangular panels.
