Italian to English translations [PRO] Construction / Civil Engineering
Italian term or phrase:sovrapporta
This is taken from a letter regarding an exhibition stand:
"Abbiamo realizzato ,seguendo le indicazioni del vostro architetto, quelle modifiche (es. **sovrapporta**) che alla scorsa edizione di Lineapelle non erano state fatte come voi ce le avevate richieste"
Explanation: Hi there
The expression "sovrapporta" often refers to a rectangular window panel installed above a door to admit light to the enclosed space. This is, to my mind, more likely than a solid panel, which would effectively form part of the wall and therefore would not be the subject of a specific alteration. The classic transom light is called a "fanlight", but you would be unlikely to find this kind of finery in an exhibition stand.
You should find plenty of info on Google.
