Italian term or phrase: sporto di gronda della coperttura
It is a title in a report speaking about a villa renovation. What is it in English? I know that it refers to the eave at the part of the roof that just out to hold the eave. Thanks as always.

eaves
Explanation:
that's it, in a nutshell. The eaves of a roof is the entire part that overhangs in front of the wall. And it's always a plural. There is no singular "eave". I hope this helps.

so.. "sporto di gronda della copertura" simply means eaves. If one word seems not enough, then you could say "roof overhang" but that is not quite right.

agree  AeC2009: I was going to suggest roof overhangs..., but you're right, if English has one word why one should want to use two? Those damn Italians..., :-)))
