Italian term or phrase: contesto
From a report on academic recruitment:

XX concordano con la proposta, sottolineano l’esigenza che tale regola venga rispettata con rigore e continuità e ricordano che non vi è in questo alcun **contesto** con la governante della Scuola.

The 'proposta' was in relation to recruitment. I can make 'contesto' work if it means something like 'conflict' but I've never seen and can't find this meaning for it.

Thanks

dispute
Explanation:
I found dispute in one of my dictionaries, which is of course a synonym for conflict and seems to fit here

For what its worth, I'm as baffled as you are Maryrose, unless they mean contestazione o contrasto.

Asker: something akin to contestazione was what I was thinking about too, but still ... Last resort, consult client.
