(railway) line Explanation: I think that they talk about a railway line, that is the term we use in Italian to indicate a line (Villanova and Foggia are Italian towns). If it is more technical (you can judge), it is probably line. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 10 hrs 46 mins (2004-01-22 05:53:07 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- see for \"direttrice\" in this sense : http://www.italferr.it/progetti_italia/attivazioni.asp http://www.inea.it/udi/Collab/ISMA/info.htm http://ilgiorno.quotidiano.net/art/2001/04/21/2073207 http://www.imc.pi.cnr.it/it/raggiungere.html It can even mean aerial / aircraft line: http://www.alitalia.it/it/know/press/archives/2002/pr_25_02_... http://www.agcm.it/agcm_ita/RELAZ/RELAZ_95.NSF/0/46e3eb71c40... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 hrs 13 mins (2004-01-22 06:20:21 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- check also in previously answered kudoz questions: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/527054?keyword=direttrice ROUTE. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 17 hrs 35 mins (2004-01-22 12:42:47 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- for Bistefano: I cannot change my answer, so I would like to precise that my answer is (railway) line and not railway line. Anyway in Italian when you talk about a direttrice the most of the time you refer to a railway route / line or a an aircraft route. |
