Italian to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Finance (general) / Anti-corruption policy
Italian term or phrase: atti autoritativi
I am lost in a sea of legal definitions contained in the appendix to an anti-corruption policy - my mind has gone blank. This is purportedly given to help staff in a bank to identify parties in the public sector (soggetti avente natura pubblica).

"Agli effetti della legge penale, viene comunemente considerato come “Ente della pubblica amministrazione” qualsiasi persona giuridica che abbia in cura interessi pubblici e che svolga attività legislativa, giurisdizionale o amministrativa in forza di norme di diritto pubblico e di atti autoritativi."

No further mention is made of these "atti" all useful help is welcome.

English translation:acts constituting the exercise of public authority
Explanation:
A distinction is drawn between the acts of a public administration as a public body and transactions entered into under private law.

For example, if a public body appoints you to do a translation, this is not an act carried out in the exercise of its public authority, whereas if it orders you to pay your TV licence, that would be.
