Testi d’occasione sono anche, in numero imprecisato, quelli che figurano connessi alla storia d’amore per Laura ma che originariamente dovettero essere scritti dietro sollecitazioni mondane o per accontentare le pressanti richieste dei declamatori di versi altrui che frequentavano le corti. Si veda al riguardo la lettera V 2 delle Seniles, indirizzata al Boccaccio. Meritano d’essere rilevati i sonetti 108, 112 e 113, che furono indirizzati al poeta Sennuccio del Bene, tardo esponente del Dolce Stil Nuovo: si tratta di testi che forse facevano parte di una più ampia corrispondenza in versi, nella quale la critica ha recentemente indicato un momento fondamentale nello sviluppo del mito di Laura.
