Italian term or phrase: obbliga alla precarietà
I am thinking that this part of the sentence will need to be expanded to have much meaning in English, but I don't want to stray too far. Any ideas? It also looks to me like there is a syntax problem there.

Here is the sentence:

"Abbiamo scelto temi forti al centro del dibattito politico quotidiano: il crescente malcontento sociale verso un sistema che obbliga alla precarietà sia al sud che al nord del mondo, che contrappone migranti e autoctoni in una guerra tra poveri, che ricatta i lavoratori e le lavoratrici pur di produrre bombe."

that imposes precarious conditions on/upon....

Explanation:
I don't think it really works just to use "precarious" or its other forms on their own as in English we do not use this type of sentence structure in our descriptions. i..e we would normally say "state", "conditions", "way of life" etc and then qualify it with an adjective.

Example sentence(s):
  • "Private enterprises are not more efficient if they focus mainly on paying lower wages and IMPOSE PRECARIOUS WORKING CONDITIONS…"
