redundancy schemes

Explanation:
Here I would translate as "for workers laid off on redundancy schemes".
However yesterday I posted this translation in a different context:

"wages guarantee fund /redundancy fund/ lay-off fund"

agree  missdutch: però lascerei anche qui "redundancy fund"./Why not, as long as it is good English?

  -> The wording is difficult with "fund". Workers in the "redundancy fund scheme"?

agree  Michael Korovkin: Suitably vague. Cassa integrazione is a difficult concept to render, for it's neither exactly an unemployment insurance nor just a wage guarantee payment.

Wages Guarantee Fund

Explanation:
Better known as CIG ( Ccassa Integrazione Guardagni). There is also GIGS .i.e. speciale for companies who temporarily lay off workers or give them a short-time working week used by companies with more than 15 employees when undergoing restructuring or in financial difficulty.

agree  James (Jim) Davis: There is also "in deroga". You have given the official EU translation, which I seldom use because it is mystifying without an explanation. // No I use a reader friendly translation, depending on context.

receiving redundacy payments

Explanation:
the cassa integrazione in "English" English is either "redundancy fund" or "earnings equaization fund". Americans refer to people who are "laid off"(who migh be rehired by the company if the economy inproves" as opposed to being "fired" permanently. In certain states in the USA the people can receive "unemployment insurance benefits" if they demonstrate that they have lost their job through no fault of their own. On the other hand, workers who lose their jobs for just cause cannot claim anything.

Example sentence(s):
  • To receive a payment for redundancy an employee must have had at least two years continuous employment since the age of 18 and are based on age and length
  • The liquidator also told me that we are all in good positions to receive redundancy payments- fingers crossed for all of us
