representative offices Explanation: These are offices which are set up, normally in foreign countries, for the purposes of marketing and non-operational activities, i.e. the office has no power to enter into agreements, for example sales, in the name of the company, i.e. it has no powers of representation to act on behalf of the company. Representative offices are normally set up in places where a branch or subsidiary is unwarranted. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 14 hrs (2018-05-16 06:29:17 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- When I worked for an international law firm in Milan, I set up two of these offices, one in London and the other in Ukraine, so I know, I know what I'm talking about. |
