Italian term or phrase: Prelazione e opzione
An article in an act of association. I'm wondering if 'Right of Pre-emption' covers both terms or not.

English translation:"pre-emption and option"
Explanation:
The phrase "right of first refusal" is sometimes used as a synonym for "option," when a contractual provision requires that an asset (such as stocks, bonds, or a piece of real estate) that is being offered for sale must be offered to the party in question before it is offered to anyone else, such that the asset cannot be offered to anyone else if the party with the right of first refusal decides to buy it. -- Hope that's all perfectly clear...!

Heathcliff,

Pretty much my understanding - as 'right of pre-emption' and 'right of first refusal' seem to mean the same thing I wondered if both were necessary. I'll use both for safety's sake. Thanks.
