"sento, sento, sento" 16:29 Nov 4, 2008
I can hear, taste, feel "sento, sento, sento" but "mi sento bene" I feel well is not perception in the psychological sense of behaviourist and cognitive psychology. You hear the sensation of sound and as this passes up to your brain you perceive words and you give a basic interpretation to your sensations. In Italian the word sentire covers most of the senses through which we perceive the outside world and like feel in English it also covers sentiment, which tells us nothing about the outside, but all about our inner well (or bad) being. This is the dilemna in intepreting this term. Is it about how we perceive the outside world, or how we feel inside? |
