Italian term or phrase: mille miliardi
Hi folks, I confess that math is not my best subject. In this sentence, I need to convert the figure to dollars to make the value understandable. So I've tried to convert lire to euros and euros to dollars. I end up with "over 1 billion dollars". Is that right?

Il Polluce affondò in meno di mezz’ora, sul fondo si depositò un tesoro di settantamila monete d’argento, di cinquantamila franchi in oro affidati ad una certa madame d’Uxhull, di trentamila franchi oro affidati alla duchessa napoletana de la Rocca, di ventimila franchi e di una collezione di pietre preziose affidate al capitano di artiglieria russo Taharichoff; questo tesoro è valutato oggi intorno ai ***mille miliardi di vecchie lire***.
