Italian term or phrase: circonferenza di diametro
In English this makes no sense - does this phrase intend the length of the diameter? And therefore simply diameter in English? It does not appear to refer to an inner or outer diameter, in which case the diameters of each would be different.

English translation:circle having diameter ...
Explanation:
It could make sense in a sentence as "circonferenza di diametro pari a XX"
meaning "circle having diameter equal to XX"

I cannot think of any other sentence costructed in a meaningful way and containing those 3 words together.

Wow - hadn't intended to spark such a lively exchange!! Thanks to everyone for your input. They have indeed left out the "pari a", but from context I think this must be what they mean as it is followed by a measurement. Thanks again for your help.
