Still working on the tubing, here is another sentence that is puzzling me:

controllo dimensionale dei particolari, anch’essi eseguiti tramite realizzazioni di "maschere di controllo" specifiche

I am assuming that a maschera is something like a template, which they use to check their parts against...

Of course, I could be completely wrong.
