Italian to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / a sugar processing machine
Italian term or phrase: tramoggia con rulli a punta di diamante
Hello everyone,
I am translating a text on a company providing transport and processing of sugar. I have translated this entry in a list
Impianto di carico zucchero sfuso fluido dotato di **tramoggia con rulli a punta di diamante**, vibrovaglio, deferizzatore e nastro di carico da big – bags ad autocisterna

with
Sugar packaging plant, for the packaging of sugar from big bags to tankers or containers, with **hopper with diamond configuration rollers**, vibrating screen, iron separator and conveyor belt system for the transport from big bags to tankers

but it doesn't sound right. I am struggling to imagine a roller with diamond configuration. Is it a roller with diamond shaped spikes...?
A machine with the same rollers is used to grind lumps of hardened sugar.
Any ideas?
thanks

feed hopper with diamond-point rollers
Explanation:
The rollers (two) actually break any lumps formed in storage and pulverize again the solids for transfer to the container.
It is not just a configuration, the rollers actually have points sticking out to "grab" the sugar and push it down, out of the hopper onto the conveyor belt (sometimes they use a pneumatic transfer line).
A suggestion : use "magnetic detector" rather than "iron separator", it's the same thing in reality, but people don't like to think that there might be iron/steel (usually plants are made in stainless) in their food, so industry prefers "delicate" expressions.
