Italian term or phrase: "blocco" della colonna

Se si soffre di patologie ossee rilevanti, di protrusioni/ernie discali, di episodi acuti di “blocco” della colonna o se si è subito un intervento...

Context: warning note in the manual for an exercise (stretching) machine, advising those with certain medical conditions not to use the machine.

I am tempted to translate this using '(acute) back pain' or 'lower pack pain' (I think in US English it's referred to as low back pain). although I have already translated the term 'lombalgia' using 'lower back pain' elsewhere in the manual.

Any confirmations or alternative suggestions welcome.
