Hi, Could someone suggest how I can translate "con pregiudizio" in this context? I am not even sure what they mean by it. Many thanks

based on preconceived expectations
Explanation:
In this context "con pregiudizio" refers to knowledge about how the chemical reacts without direct observation. Rather, what science already knows about the chemical and its behavior in various settings.

agree  Vincent Lemma: also without "preconceived". This is just a study of an environmental impact with reference to similar compounds.

neutral  philgoddard: I'm not sure what the Italian means, but "preconceived" has negative connotations and is unlikely to be appropriate here.

-> After looking at it again, I agree, you are both right. Preconceived isn't appropriate here. Leaving it as "based on expectations" is better. Thank you.
