Italian term or phrase:Is the Italian name Andrea masculine or Feminine
What is the English translation for the Italian name Andrea?
Explanation: "Andrea" was a masculine name, but in the last generations (since 20 years ago more or less), some "Andrea" are female (maybe 3/4%). There was an italian movie, in the 70's, "la chiameremo Andrea", "we'll call her Andrea". Before, Andrea was just for men. Of course, in Italy live some "Andrea" female, daughters of german or anglo-saxon people in general
Explanation: Scusa Domenico, ma il titolo del film era "LO chiameremo Andrea". Film di Vittorio De Sica, con Mariangela Melato. Nessun italiano chiamerebbe la propria figlia "Andrea", perché sarebbe ridicolo. Si ricorrerebbe al femminile di Andrea, appunto Andreina, come hanno già detto in molti.
