Explanation:
As Floriana says, it's an item to be located behind the cash register.
I would stick to "cash register" as that's what the Italian says - there are counters that don't necessarily have a cash register on them.
I did a websearch but cannot fin an elegant way of stating the fact so all I can suggest is what I've written above.
Store/shop terminology does call them "fixtures" though.

"behind the cash register", but I think "behind the counter" might be a better solution. Any more context?
