Se ho capito bene, per misurare la temperatura di un oggetto caldo, il tuo termometro ottico misura la temperatura su una porzione della superficie dell'oggetto (non troppo grande, non troppo piccola, e neanche uguale, ma poco piu' piccola), probabilmente misurando la temperatura in varie parti della superficie di misura e poi effettuando una media dei valori. Se la superficie su cui avviene la misura e' troppo piccola, la media dei valori che risultera' non sara' una buona misura della temperatura dell'oggetto, sara' piuttosto la temperatura di quella piccola porzione di oggetto che e' stata considerata (che potrebbe, per esempio, essere molto piu' calda o fredda dell'oggetto intero). Ora la traduzione.
