Having looked at your translation I think you basically translated tenda as mesh system.

The way I see it, they used the word tenda to make it simple to understand, by making it similar to a normal word. Maybe the mesh in question looks like an awning(ie it is two-dimensional and made of something that, in this case, vaguely resembles cloth) or like a tent (ie a three-dimensional structure made of cloth that can hold people inside it).

The word "awning" can apply to a piece of hard cloth at the side of a building, eg to keep the rain/sun out (see references for normal uses of "awning"). I assume this is closer than "tent" for your purposes.
