Italian term or phrase: tacche (per audio control)
fino a 3 tacche indicono il segnale acustico
I understand what these are, (waves)?
How do I properly translate this term, however?
Kathi
English translation:Up to 3 notches (or level read-outs) ...
Explanation:
...indicate the [intensity or strength] of the audio signal.

In this case, the "tacche" aren't soundwaves, but rather the marks or increments in a measurement device, connected to a sensor, that let a user or operator see what the sound level is.

They can also be the increment markers on a dial, such as the little hash-marks on an automobile speedometer that indicate the intermediate values between the speeds that are marked with actual digits (10, 20, 30 MPH, and so on).

Hope this helps a bit... -- HC

thanks for your input. Your right, I guess I was thinking of amplifiers with wave forms.
