thickness check tilt movement Explanation: Hi there. Just guessing as usual, but it is a point of interest, never fully explained in my mind, that while most dictionaries indicate "brandeggio" as a rotary movement, the Italians seem to use it to indicate tilting in technical literature (on a lift truck, for example, the "cilindri di brandeggio" are the "tilt cylinders/jacks", responsible for raking the mast forwards and backwards) - perhaps it has something to do with the gun training usage of the word. Of course "spessori" could be "shims", but in the context of a dimensional checking system, "thickness" seems more likely. |
