see the explanation Explanation: Here's a definition of "conto lavoro" in the jewellery manufacturing industry, but it applies to other materials and machinery as well: "Conto lavoro, also known as conto lavorazione, is the term used in the jewellery manufacturing industry in Italy to describe gold which a local or foreign wholesaler gives to a manufacturer to make up for him in payment only of the manufacturing charges. Thus the manufacturer himself does not have the cost of financing the gold." The English equivalent should be something like "for manufacturing purposes". |
