butterfly valve


Explanation:
hi Peter,
This could refer to the butterfly valve which regulates the air intake of a carburettor. The text referring to external temp tho' makes me think of a possible aircraft application (where cold external air intake can cause carb icing with disastrous effects)however, modern aircraft have injection systems so it probably wouldn't apply. hope this helps.
