Italian term or phrase: deviatore
Hi folks,
I'm doing security doors and can't find a reliable translation for "deviatore". It's the transmission device that converts the vertical movement of the link rods into the horizontal movement needed to move the deadbolts in a multi-point locking system. Any locksmiths out there?
TIA

English translation:Directional Convertor
Explanation:
The translation, "switch" didn't sound quite right to me. It's a little mis-leading probably translated from the italian word for "scambiatore." Try the translation, "directional convertor." One of the Italian engineers I work with helped me out on this one.

Well what can I say? Thanks to you all of course.
For Golub, you deserved the points for your pun, but I'm distrustful of Briotti's translator (could'a been me!).
For Paola: your interesting site suggests an alternative line of work that will surely pay much better than our current occupation. ;-)
For Kara, with the hands-on approach and helpful engineers; although I might not use "directional converter", it's certainly worth a thought. Trouble seems to be that this type of locking system is not much used in English-speaking countries.
I will let you know if the manufacturer happens to know the "correct" term.
Cheers
Derek

I have looked everywhere

Explanation:
for this blasted deviatore, with no appreciable results.
I have come up with this lockpicking site (one of many!!!) where every possible mechanism of a lock is described with pictures
http://www.lysator.liu.se/mit-guide/chapter9.html

I have tried "driver", "converter", "cams"...

I found "deviator" but in translated sites...

I give up, good luck
