It can be translated as "lean" or "lay" or "rest," but I think it just means "place" or "put down." Probably, a better Italian would have been "collocare" or even "montare." Since you should have a diagram, you should know whether these items are horizontal or not, and so pick the best verb. For "passacavo" the Marolli also gives "chock." Again the picture should help.
