XXX propone delle comparazioni storiche tra il colonialismo francese e l’imperialismo di epoca romana, che assurge a modello per la gestione della guerra, della penetrazione e della civilizzazione e “dimostra la necessità di un’abile politica accoppiata alla forza”.
Illustrando in questo modo la cogenza della “legge storica” secondo cui “la vita indigena si svolge lungo certe linee direttive, rimaste immutate da una remota antichità”.
