da qui vedo che c'è una differenza tra "fiamma" (che dovrebbe corrispondere au débit sur dosse) e "mezza fiamma" (che associerei a faux-quartier: in sostanza la fiamma dovrebbe essere tagliata a meta se capisco bene)

Faux-Quartier : Il s'agit de placages provenant des rives d'une bille, mais dont le fil s'écarte de la ligne droite à un moment ou l'autre, sans pour autant se refermer à 180°,comme une dosse véritable. Lorsqu'on le jointe à livre ouvert, on recrée un dessin de dosse. Non jointé, on croit avoir affaire avec un quartier; une fois jointé on a affaire à une dosse; de là, l'expression "faux-quartier"..."
